Camp Lejeune Community Schools
Camp Lejeune operates a school system for military dependents housed on the base and aboard New River Air Station.
The Camp Lejeune Community Schools system operates one high school and one middle school on the base, with four elementary schools and one primary school located throughout base housing areas and on the air station.
All children who meet attendance requirements and who are 4 years old by Sept. 1 are eligible for the half-day pre-kindergarten programs; those 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 may be enrolled for kindergarten.
Additionally, special education and related services are provided to students ages 3 to 21 who have developmental delays or disabilities. These services are provided at no cost to eligible students.

Onslow County Schools
Onslow County Schools is the 12th largest system in North Carolina. Higher education is available through community colleges and university extension programs for civilians and military personnel.
The University of North Carolina at Wilmington and East Carolina University in Greenville are within commuting distance.
Coastal Carolina Community College
Established in 1965, as the Onslow Industrial Education Center, Coastal's curriculum and enrollment has grown over the past four decades to more than 5,000 students. Coastal Carolina Community College offers more than 60 curriculum programs in vocational, technical and college transfer areas of study. Many of these programs are available during the daytime, evening, and specially scheduled times to include 16-week, 12-week, and eight-week terms. On-site and online courses are offered. The main campus is located on Western Boulevard in Jacksonville. Coastal classes are also offered on Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River. The college also has off-site location for its Culinary and Hospitality Management program.
More than one-half of the college's students are enrolled in the college transfer curriculum. College transfer students earn up to 65 credit hours leading to an associate's degree in liberal arts, fine arts and science degree programs. Business, elementary education, and engineering are just a few areas of study available to transfer students. Technical programs range from criminal justice to architectural technology. Vocational programs qualify students to work as diesel and automotive technicians, welders, dental assistants, electricians, and more.
To be classified as a full-time student, a minimum course load of 12 credit hours per semester is required. Tuition and fees vary with the number of credits taken and residency status. Military family members, regardless of their state of residency, receive in-state tuition rates. Active-duty military are eligible for tuition assistance from the military.
The Continuing Education Division at Coastal plays an active role in the continuing education of the citizens of Onslow County. Last year, more than 20,000 people enrolled in Coastal's continuing education courses. These practical, academic and technical programs are designed to increase an individual's employment opportunities and performance. The Continuing Education Division provides courses that upgrade the occupational skills and knowledge of individuals at all levels of labor and management, offers services to small businesses, and develops programs to meet the training needs of new and expanding industries. University of Mount Olive at Jacksonville
The University of Mount Olive at Jacksonville, located at 2543 Onslow Drive, offers adult students the opportunity to attend classes one night a week and earn an associate or bachelor degree. Bachelor degree options include banking and finance, business management, criminal justice and criminology, early childhood education, leadership, and religion. An associate degree in general studies is also available. Online classes are also available. Students must be at least 21 years old. Financial aid is available and college credits may be available for military experience and training based upon the American Council on Education guidelines. Miller-Motte is a chain of colleges and technical colleges throughout the Southern United States. The schools are accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools.

Consolidated Education
The Camp Lejeune/New River Consolidated Education Centers offer courses from several colleges and universities. The centers are the primary education offices on Camp Lejeune and New River and operate under Education Assistance, Marine Corps Community Services. The centers provide information on the universities and colleges aboard the bases, distance learning courses, tuition assistance, Military Academics Skills Program (MSAP), the Apprenticeship Program and many other services for military personnel. The center at Camp Lejeune also provides testing services.
The Consolidated Education Centers have on-base courses from Campbell University, Southern Illinois University (New River location), Boston University, Webster University, Coastal Carolina Community College, UNC Wilmington and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
All classes at Camp Lejeune are taught at the John A. Lejeune Education Center (building 825) on Stone Street. Classes at New River are taught at buildings AS 212 at Bancroft St.
UNC-Wilmington
Since 1995, UNCW's Onslow Extension site has provided access for non-traditional students — active and retired military, military families and other Onslow County residents — to earn college degrees without commuting to Wilmington. Professional faculty and staff are the backbone of the extension experience and are available to offer students assistance with admissions, financial aid, and academic advising. UNCW Onslow Extension provides enrolled students several alternatives to the traditional experience found on the Wilmington campus. Students in Onslow County have the unique opportunity of taking their UNCW University studies courses through UNCW's partnership with Coastal Carolina Community College, and then transferring to the UNCW Onslow extension site to attain their bachelor's degree in one of the degree offerings. Courses are offered on site at CCCC and MCB Camp Lejeune and online.
Current UNCW undergraduate degree programs offered through the Onslow Extension site are in business, criminology/criminal justice, clinical research, elementary education, and social work. There are also additional graduate degree programs, licenses and certificates in chemistry, elementary education, instructional technology, liberal studies, conflict management and resolution and social work. Coastal Carolina Community College offers a full range of college transfer courses on Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River, as well as the main campus.
