The program opened with Lighthouse president Dr. Janet Szlyk welcoming guests. She shared part of the reason why the honorees support the Lighthouse--it's because they dearest the fact that the nonprofit never turns anyone abroad because of an
disability to pay. Szlyk spotlighted three children who take benefited considering of the Lighthouse's support--Matilde, 4, was born without irises and receives braille and rehabilitation training.
